Last year, along with my friend Lynda, we launched Mane of Your Own, a podcast about afro hair.

It’s more of a passion project than a side hustle, but it we really enjoyed engaging in and sharing conversations about afro hair. From Afro Hair in the workplace, to raising children with afro hair and even talking to our mums, it was a great experience.

We’ve received such positive feedback about the topics and guests that it made us realise there really is a need for open, frank conversation about the various issues around afro hair.

So much so, that we’ve brought it back, bigger and better than ever! Yes, Mane of Your Own season 2 here, just in time for Black History Month.

Our first episode is a good ‘un. We talk about the experience of transitioning back to natural hair and speak to winnr of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model, Jade Burt (nee Thompson) about how she learned to love her fro.

She’s making a return to the modelling world after having a baby, so has a whole new perspective on beauty.
